When I first met Jackie she came off as the kind of girl anyone would gravitate towards. I wasn’t wrong! Jackie truly is a breath of fresh air with her carefree vibes and her humility. She’s always smiling, which is why when she asked for my help, I couldn’t say no.
It’s not hard to imagine this little lady in a fit and flare dress and all things girly, but her laid-back personality makes her more of a jeans & t-shirt kind of girl. Growing up in a household of mostly boys she would always pick the first thing out of her closet. Still today she’s surrounded by the boys. After double majoring in statistics and technological systems management she’s pursuing a career in the utility field. Although she doesn’t know what the future holds, she loves the fact that she’s making a difference in a field dominated mostly by men. Her hardworking ways are going to take her somewhere amazing, but she’s sure to need a great wardrobe to back her up.
My goal with Jackie was not to change the way she dressed but to embellish it. I still want her style to feel easy, just with an extra oomph. For this post I picked a pair of dark denim boyfriend jeans and a turtleneck. I know, sounds boring on it’s own, but adding a peplum jacket (perfect for her shape), a cute clutch and cool rings transformed the look. Not mentioned her to-die-for Mikael Kors booties, which were on sale at DSW.
Style Tip: Dark Denim jeans look dressier than light. Opt for a darker denim for a night out or when you’re looking to spruce up an outfit.
And yes, Jackie was raised and still resides in Brooklyn. Where Brooklyn at? :: Raises Hands::
